Ionad Hiort
The St Kilda Centre Development Group are developing a proposal to build a remote access visitor centre at the Geodha Sgoilt directly above the spectacular sea cliffs and stacks of the Mangurstadh headland. The centre will interpret and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of St Kilda.
The Linda Norgrove Foundation
In 2010, Scottish Aid Worker Linda Norgrove, who was brought up in Mangersta, was kidnapped and subsequently died in a failed rescue attempt in Afghanistan in October 2010. Her parents, John and Lorna Norgrove set up The Linda Norgrove Foundation in her memory to carry on the work which Linda was doing to help women, children and families in Afganistan.
